Activity Design

The reason students take a course is because they want to learn a skill or mindset, and ultimately to improve their work or lives. They’re looking for behaviour change and transformation - but they can’t change if they only know the ‘what.’ They have to learn the ‘how.’

That's where activities and projects come into play. Rooted in the desired learning outcomes, they help learners apply what they’ve learned in their day-to-day. Coupled with a powerful feedback mechanism, activities and projects help solve real-world problems that are relevant to your organization.

Assessments

Using a backwards design approach, I always start with the desired outcomes in mind: What performance and behaviours do we want to observe in the learner? What are the best ways to observe this change?
